Nokia N8 how to install .jar files

If you want to install a game or any other .jar file, then we have the solution for you. For someone who has never used a Symbian device, it could be a daunting task trying to find a way to install .jar files you download from the internet or otherwise.



The solution is simple. You first need to connect your Nokia N8 to the computer containing the .jar file, once done you will see a notification in the top left corner of the screen – quickly tap this notification before it disappears and choose “Mass Storage”, make sure it says active just below.



Now that you have done this, you should find the .jar file that you wish to install and choose the Nokia N8, which will show as a storage device on PC’s, or on Mac’s it’s displayed as a storage device named “Untitled” – from this point click on the storage device and put the .jar file within the “Installs” folder.



Now that the file is on your phone, you now need to install it. Eject your Nokia N8 device and disconnect it from the mobile phone. Now on your phone, press the Menu button (bottom left of the phone) and choose Settings > Application Manager > Installation files – now choose the file you put onto the phone in the earlier step.



It should now begin installing your app, once installed you can run it via the the Applications folder in the Menu.

Unless you have millions of readers, constantly glued to your blog, chances are that nobody will notice a thing, while you are editing a published stub. If you do have millions of readers, setup another blog, using the same template, and publish to that blog first.



Remember, blogs are free. You can preview your posts in all their glory, before publishing them in the main blog, and never show a mistake to your readers. If you take an hour or more to create a post, a few extra minutes to copy a finished post from one blog to another, if it saves you from losing your work accidentally, isn't a waste of time.



Just remember, AutoSave, and automatic draft generation, works best for short periods of time. You simply cannot type for hours on end before publishing, if you don't want possible problems.

I was just typing a long post, and with one keyboard mistake I highlighted ALL the content of my post, and replaced it with three accidentally pressed keys.



Just as I noticed my mistake, AutoSave acted, and saved my draft in progress with those 3 keystrokes. All my work down the drain.

Dlvr.It

We discovered Dlvr.It quite recently, and absolutely love it. This is the best free RSS to Twitter service. It lets you create automatic rules around which posts you want to send to Twitter, add automatic hashtags to tweets based on category and author of posts, and much more. You can even use it to automatically post RSS to Facebook and Myspace.

Dlvr.It is completely free, and you can configure multiple RSS feeds with it. This comes especially handy if you manage multiple websites. This will let you choose which RSS feed should go to which Twitter account.

TwitterFeed

TwitterFeed used to be my first choice as RSS to Twitter app, until I discovered Dlvr.It. In fact, I am using TwitterFeed to publish RSS feed of this blog to my Twitter account. It is very easy to configure, and is totally free. As is with Dlvr.it, it also lets you add hashtags to your tweets (I add #freeware). It also lets you add multiple RSS feeds, and post them to one or more Twitter accounts.

So, if you do not like Dlvr.It for some reason, TwitterFeed is a good second choice to publish RSS feed to Twitter.

Ping.Fm

Ping.Fm is another service that lets you automatically post RSS feeds to Twitter. It actually supports posting RSS feed to many social networks, like, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Identi.ca, and more. It allows you to publish only one RSS feed. However, there is a way to publish multiple RSS feeds too. Just add all the RSS feeds to Google reader, and provide username of your Google Reader to Ping.Fm. It will then pull items from all the feeds, and push them to your social networks.

I have listed Ping.Fm at #3 as this feature was disabled for quite some time, and was enabled back again recently. So, I am not sure if this will remain on permanently. Check out Ping.Fm.

HootSuite

HootSuite is one of the best free Twitter client. It is a web based Twitter client that provides lot of features to effectively manage your Twitter account. An interesting feature of HootSuite is that it lets you post RSS feeds to Twitter. Many people think that RSS to Twitter feature is available in paid version only, but actually free version lets you configure two RSS feeds that can be posted to your Twitter account.

FeedBurner

This one might come as a surprise. Most of the bloggers burn their RSS feeds via Feedburner. Now, Feedburner has added a feature to automatically publish your RSS feed to Twitter as well. To post RSS to Twitter using Feedburner, just go to Feedburner. Then click on the feed that you want to post to Twitter. Then click on “Publicize” tab. In the left side, you will see option for “Socialize”. Click on that. Here you can configure the Twitter account to which you want to post your feed.

Feedburner will automatically shorten URLs using goo.gl URL shortening service, and lets you add hashtags to your tweets. It also lets you setup keyword filters, and post only those feed items that have those keywords (or, post only those that don’t have those keywords).

All these applications let you easily post RSS feed to Twitter. These come very handy for bloggers. If there is some RSS to Twitter service that we forgot to cover, do mention that in comments.

How to Insert Text in a Video Using Windows Movie Maker

Windows Movie Maker is a great tool to insert text in your videos.This is very useful if you want to put a trademark to all your videos before uploading them to video sharing sites like Youtube,metacafe etc.You can also add slides as well as pictures in your video file to bring some added effect.

To insert text in your videos follow these simple steps :

1. Open Windows Movie Maker from the Start Menu.

2. Drag and drop the video clip in to the Timeline.

3. Go to “Tools” and then select “Title and Credits”. After that, select “add title on the selected clip on the timeline “.

4. Enter the appropriate title and text that you want to show in your video. After that, click done.

5. Next, drag and drop the video clip into the video timeline. See the Screenshot below.



6. Note the length of your movie clip. If you want the Title and text to be present from the begining of the clip to the end, adjust the “Title Overlay Settings”. Just drag the Title Overlay Ruler up to the end of the video clip.

7. Now you can also add other animated effects and also texts before and after the video clip.To do this repeat steps 3 to 5.

8. To make the title go just below the video, double click in the “Title Overlay” pane and click “Change the title animation”. Select the animation that you like.

You can also increase the text and align placement of your text. For best results make the following settings:

Font: Arial,

Font size :Lowest,

Transparency :0%

Text align: Right.

For Best Results change the Title animation to “Subtitle : Subtitle at bottom(Overlay)”.

9. When you have finished adding titles and credits, save the video clip (Press Ctrl P to save).

Note:You can also add your pictures and powerpoint slides in Windows Movie maker. Just drag and drop your slides, pics and adjust the time overlay settings.
